Waves of Change forum: Presentations

We have a number of presentations on Friday 22nd June at our Waves of Change forum, exploring the themes of peace, gang violence and conflict resolution. Find out more about what our speakers will talk about below.

The Prem Rawat Foundation's Peace Education Programme

The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) Peace Education Program (PEP) consists of 10 sessions, each focusing on a particular theme. These customised, interactive workshops are non-religious and non-sectarian. The content of each theme is based on excerpts from Prem Rawat’s international talks. The themes are: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope, and Contentment.

The presentation will be given by UK facilitator and small business owner Mary Dalgleish.

Tutu Foundation UK Conversations for Change Initiative - The Ubuntu Youth Project

A collaboration between the Tutu Foundation and Youth Futures,
the initiative aims to enable young people to meet with local police officers to discuss policing issues of concern to them. It facilitates the establishment of self-perpetuating local forums for discussion and engagement between the police and the local youth community, in order to create better understanding between them.

Oldham Peace Pledge

Oldham Council’s commitment to building communities and spreading peace has seen it become the first local authority in the UK to sign the EU Bruxelles 'Pledge to Peace' declaration, a commitment of intent that will see Oldham put in place projects and actions promoting a culture of peace. The ambassador to the Pledge to Peace is Prem Rawat.

The presentation will be given by the secretary to the Oldham Peace Pledge, Richard Outram.

Bedrocks Book Reading Groups

Bedrock Books Reading Groups are a unique type of reading group, led by a facilitator, which supports participants in exploring the basis of their own humanity. Participants are invited to read, reflect and re-discover their fundamental feelings and understandings. Examples of the themes the group will explore are: self-acceptance, reconciliation, peace, choice and hope.
