EVENT INFORMATION

Introduction

As part of an ongoing series of ‘Waves of Change’ events in Croydon, Peace Partners, in collaboration with the Tutu Foundation, is hosting a one day interactive forum. It will bring together individuals, organisations, creative musicians and poets who are influencing the world around them by creating positive change both at the individual level and in the local community.

In the face of challenging and adverse influences in society, Peace Partners is currently focussing on connecting influential individuals (especially young people) in London who are collectively striving to change their world by breaking down barriers and bringing peace into their own lives and the lives of those around them.

What Waves of Change events offer

  • A platform for raising awareness of projects that involve empowering young people and communities to live their lives free from violence and aggression
  • An alliance of diverse organisations that are dedicated to peace as a way of bringing about change and making a difference both at the individual level and the community level.
  • An introduction to the internationally acclaimed Peace Education Programme, a simple but powerful tool that can be delivered in community, organisational, educational and criminal justice settings

Aims of the 1st July ‘Moment of Change’ event

  • To bring the community together to share practical ways to help resolve conflicts and issues facing the young and vulnerable in the area.
