Making Peace Visible with PeaceCast.tv

Over time the meaning of the word ‘Peace’ has developed greatly. At one point peace would have meant to simply live in non-violence without destruction. But now, peace means so much more. To live in peace, we must still live in non-violence and free of war, but we must also consider others and our planet, as well as our own individual peace. For each of us the term ‘Peace’ may mean something different, but no matter what peace means to us, we all seek it - even if we don’t know it.

Furthermore, with the growing developments in technology and media it has never been easier to let yourself be heard, and sadly, recently our media has been dominated by all the wrong messages by all the wrong people. Throughout this past year, war and violence throughout the world has been top of the list for all big media channels, with new developments everyday on how the world is becoming more corrupt and hostile - wouldn’t it be nice to see something different?

PeaceCast.tv, like many of us, aim to promote the opposite, the message of peace, providing people with a sense of hope, courage and belongingness. As a group of international volunteers, PeaceCast.tv work extremely hard towards making their mission a reality; using media to spread  the message that “peace is real and peace is possible - inside each of us - between us - among people - among nations - even in the midst of conflict”. Acting as an online television channel who make peace inspired material globally available, PeaceCast.tv invite the world to become engaged and bring peace into their own lives and communities. Using content provided by individuals and organisations worldwide, people who share a similar vision of building global peace and prosperity are being brought together each and every day. PeaceCast.tv provide a platform from which people can be heard, giving them a voice and an opportunity to inspire others and become inspired themselves.

To ensure that peace can be visible from afar, PeaceCast.tv translate their videos into 14 different languages - ensuring that more individuals, organisations, communities and cultures can become involved. Through videos created and submitted from all over the world visible, viewers are able to see just how enriching peace can be, not only to our individual lives, but also to our planet.

In honor of International Day of Peace 2016, PeaceCast.tv are holding a 48 hour global webcast of your peace inspired material, PeaceCast2016, allowing you to “Speak Your Peace!”. What’s more, it’s not too late to get involved and help spread the word this Peace Day. How you contribute is completely up to you, all you have to do is submit your video clip before 21st August 2016. Whether you chose to express your peace through music, culture, poetry, dance, spoken words or a film clip, PeaceCast.tv want to share it with the world!

If you want to be featured in this worldwide webcast and Speak Your Peace, all you have to do is submit your peace related videos to www.peacecast.tv before 21st August 2016.
